Description
Pierre Ferrand Grande Champagne Cognac Reserve Double Cask
The award winning, Pierre Ferrand Reserve Double Cask is an ingenious Cognac, offering adventurous liquor drinkers the chance to taste a well-aged blend of eaux-de-vie, that finished its aging process in barrels different to traditional Cognac methods. Instead, the Premier Cru eaux-de-vie was transferred to very old, rare, casks that once held the fortified French wine known as, Banyuls. Through mirroring the ‘golden age’ of Cognac in the 1800s, the master blender at Maison Pierre Ferrand recalls the old tradition of when the use of barrels, which once held other spirits, was a favored technique. Finishing off the maturation process in this way enriches the flavor and character of the Cognac in a unique manner – a technique that is archaic within Cognac production today.
With both traditional production methods and innovative contemporary techniques at the forefront of Pierre Ferrand, the brand values the past just as much as the future when it comes to curating top quality Cognacs. Proud to revive ‘lost tradition’ Reserve Double Cask Cognac is a delicious example of just how important the preservation of history is within modern Cognac production.
