The benham’s line of spirits all started when our founder wine brand builder derek benham fell in love with gin while enjoying a proper gin and tonic in barcelona. From that moment on he wanted to create a gin that would shine with balance and complexity of flavor – like that first barcelona g&t. Benham’s spirits are produced at our distillery in west sonoma county california. We use fresh hand-zested local citrus in every batch of gin and we individually vapor distill each of the 12 botanicals in our gin giving us precise control over the flavor profile and the way in which each botanical is expressed. Sonoma county is home to some of the finest wine grapes available; we sourced merlot and zinfandel grapes right from our backyard. The wine grapes create a succulent well-rounded palate.
